Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your Sarool account and associated personal data at any time. This page describes the procedure, what is deleted, what is kept for legal reasons, and the timeline.
How to request deletion
Send an email to sarool.app@gmail.com from the address linked to your account with the subject "Account deletion request". Include your full name and the associated phone number so we can verify your identity. We acknowledge receipt within 48 working hours and confirm deletion within 30 calendar days maximum.
What is deleted
User profile (first name, last name, email, phone, preferred language, profile photo). Identity documents stored in the local wallet (already encrypted on your device, deleted locally upon uninstall). Preferences and settings. Active sessions and authentication tokens. Push notifications and direct message history.
What is anonymised (not deleted)
Vehicle inspections and signed photos you have completed retain their tamper-evident value for the operator. Your name is anonymised (replaced by a random identifier), but the content and SHA-256 hashes are kept for the legal proof retention period (5 years after the end of the vehicle handover). Invoices issued by operators concerning you are kept by them under Belgian accounting law (7 years). Sarool does not control this period. Audit logs (security, access) are kept for 1 year with your IP and user-agent anonymised.
Timeline
Receipt acknowledgement: 48 working hours. Effective deletion of personal data: 30 calendar days maximum. Anonymisation of inspections and invoices: immediate within the platform.
Complaint
